July 27, 2011: Suspected Al-Shabaab militants attack officers in Mandera, killing one and injuring three.

October 1: Terror group’s gunmen abduct French woman in Lamu.

October 13: They kidnap aid workers at the Dadaab refugee camp in Garissa.

October 15: Kenya declares war on Al-shabaab and says military would pursue them across the border.

October 24: Two grenade attacks hit Nairobi, at Mwaura’s Bar on Mfangano Lane and at Race Course Road matatu terminus.28 injured, one dead.

October 29: State offers amnesty to Kenyans in the terrorist group.

November 5: Terrorists attack Garissa’s Pentecostal Church. Two killed and five injured.

November 24: Twin grenade attacks in Garissa kill 3 as scores injured and in Mandera; military truck is blown up, killing one soldier and injuring three.

December 5: Explosion at IFO refugee camp, Garissa.One AP officer killed, three injured.

December 11: Explosion in Mandera kills one AP, and in Wajir, two regular police and nine KDF soldiers injured in another blast.

December 21: Police officers escape unhurt after an explosion in Dadaab.

January 1, 2012: Six killed in Garissa as attackers hurl a grenade and spray bullets at revelers celebrating New Year at Locus night club.

January 11: Heavily-armed attackers bomb an AP camp in Gerille division, Wajir, and kill seven people, including three Aps before stealing guns. Two government officials are abducted.

March 10: Six people killed in an explosion at Machakos bus station, Nairobi and 63 are injured.

March 31: Simultaneous attacks at a prayer rally in Mtwapa and a restaurant at Tononoka, both in Mombasa, leave one dead and 33 injured.

April 29: One killed and 10 injured in an attack at God House of miracle Church, Ngara, in Nairobi.

May 15: Grenade attack at Bella Vista Club in Mombasa kills one, five injured .In Dagahaley, Lagdera division, one AP is killed and four injured after their vehicle is attacked with an explosive.

May 28: Explosion at Assanand’s House, Moi Avenue kills one person, 36 injured.

June 24: Explosion at Jericho Beer Garden in Mishomoroni, Mombasa, kills four and 30 are injured.

July 1: Seventeen people, including two policemen, are killed in attacks on two churches in Garissa 66 are injured.

September 30: Boy killed in attack on a church on Juja Road, Nairobi.

November 4: Grenade thrown in a church within a police camp in Garissa, killing one officer, 10 people, including five officers, are injured.

December 7: Two killed in grenade attack in Eastleigh, Nairobi, and Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan among the injured.

December 16: One person injured in second grenade attack in Eastleigh.

June 10, 2013: Explosive device explodes during an open –air crusade in Likoni.16 people are injured.

September 21: Terrorists attack Westgate Mall in a four –day siege that leaves 67 dead and 175 injured.

December 14: Four killed in an explosion in a matatu near Pangani Girls School. Over 30 are injured.

January 2, 2014: Ten people are injured after grenade is hurled into Tandoori Bar in Diani.

March 23: Two gunmen enter a church and shoot at the congregation, killing six.

April 23: Two policemen among four people killed after a car they had intercepted explodes as it is taken to Pangani police station.

May 3: Explosion rips a part a ChaniaTravellers bus in Mwembe Tayari, killing four people.

May 4: Three killed, dozens injured, in explosions in two buses on Thika Road.

May 16: Explosion at the busy Gikomba market kills 12, more than 78 injured.

June 15: Terrorists storm Mpeketoni trading center and kill 48 people, burn 20 vehicles, hotels, banks and government offices. This was followed by a series of attacks in Lamu County.

June 17: Gunmen invade Kaisare village in Lamu, move from house to house taking away men .Nine killed.

June 23: Five people shot dead at Pandanguo in Witu, Lamu West, when terrorists attack villagers at night.

July 5: Hindi, Kibiboni village and Gamba police station raided and 23 are killed. One person is injured.

July 7: Gunmen raid a private conservancy in Amu ranch in Lamu County and burn offices and patrol vehicle.

July 10: Raiders attack Pandanguo village in Lamu County, torch houses and a school.

July 12: Armed gangs raid Pandanguo again, loot homes and harvest maize from two acres of land.

July 18: Heavily armed gunmen open fire on a bus near Mambo Sasa forest in Witu division .Seven killed.

November 22: Al-shabaab hijack a Nairobi –bound bus in Mandera and execute 28 people, most of them teachers.

December 1: The terrorists again attack a camp in Koromey area of Mandera at night and kill 36 quarry workers.

April 2, 2015: Al-shabaab storm Garissa University and kill 148 people among them 142 students and six security officers.
